Maçka Palas was built in 1922 as an apartment block designed by the Italian architect Giulio Mongeri and reopened as a Park Hyatt in 2008: 90 rooms and suites, including spa rooms with their own hammam, a 20-metre rooftop pool, a spa and restaurants, on a quiet street in Nişantaşı beside the Teşvikiye Mosque and Maçka Park, among the city's fashion houses.
